Permanent Jewelry FAQs
-
No! Permanent jewelry only requires a small weld and causes a small spark of electricity which does not inflict any pain.
-
Permanent jewelry is welded together with a small jump ring which can be cut if necessary. Cutting through the jump ring, as opposed to the actual chain, is highly recommended so we can easily re-weld it.
-
Traditional clasps can be welded onto your jewelry if you would like the ability to take your jewelry on and off. Clasps are ideal for people who need to remove jewelry often but would still like the experience of having permanent jewelry custom made.
-
Minors can receive permanent jewelry services as long as a parent is present to do some quick paperwork.
-
Permanent jewelry chains and charms are made exclusively with 14 karat solid gold. Tribal Rites only uses solid gold to ensure the longevity of your jewelry. Plated gold or sterling silver can tarnish over time, whereas solid gold can be always worn, showered with, etc with no harm to the jewelry.
-
Clients' personal chains or charms can be made into permanent jewelry so long as the chain is able to fit a jump ring for welding purposes. There will be a $30 welding fee for clients using their own jewelry.
-
Broken jewelry is able to be re-welded. Depending on how much time has elapsed a re-welding fee may apply.
-
Our wide variety of solid gold chains, charms, and dangles come in white gold (in addition to rose and yellow gold). White gold is silver in color with the high quality properties of solid gold.
